Ferran Torres made an immediate impact on his Paris Saint-Germain Champions League debut, scoring a hat-trick in a 6-1 win over Slovan Bratislava on Wednesday. The Spanish international’s performance helped PSG start the competition strongly.
Speaking after the match, Torres expressed his delight at joining the French club from Barcelona during the summer transfer window. “I feel happy here! When you are happy, you perform at your best. I am very happy at Paris Saint-Germain,” he said.
When asked whether Barcelona can compete for the Champions League title, Torres replied: “Yes, Barcelona are one of the candidates to win the title. Real Madrid are also contenders, as are Bayern Munich, and us too. It will be a great competition.”
This was Torres’s first Champions League hat-trick and came in his first match for PSG in the tournament. He had not achieved this feat in his previous 50 Champions League appearances: 9 with Valencia, 7 with Manchester City, and 34 with Barcelona.
