Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has expressed caution regarding the fitness of Achraf Hakimi after the defender was forced off during Sunday’s Ligue 1 match against Brest.
The Moroccan international suffered a muscle injury that compelled him to leave the pitch shortly before the end of the first half. He appeared to be struggling with a problem in his right adductor muscle, having stopped near the touchline to assess the issue himself before signalling to the bench that he could not continue.
This early exit raises concerns for PSG, especially with the international break approaching. It marks a potential first injury setback for the club this season.
When asked about the injury, Luis Enrique did not provide further details. “Hakimi? I hope the injury is not serious, it’s difficult to determine. He will undergo a medical examination tomorrow,” the coach said, according to Foot Mercato.
The club will now wait for the results of those tests to precisely determine the nature of the injury and the potential duration of Hakimi’s absence.
