Moroccan football legends Mehdi Benatia and Walid Regragui are stepping into a fresh chapter as analysts for French broadcaster CANAL+. The duo, known for their deep understanding of the game, will bring their insights to a new audience.
Regragui’s Move to the Broadcast Booth
According to reports from L’Équipe, Walid Regragui, the former head coach of Morocco’s national team, has joined CANAL+ as an analyst. He will appear in the channel’s analytical programs during European match nights and English Premier League fixtures. The announcement was made during a press conference marking the start of CANAL+’s new season, held at the newly inaugurated studio named after Michel Platini.
Benatia Follows Suit

The post read: “Mehdi Benatia joins the CANAL+ team as an analyst.” Benatia’s experience, both on the pitch and in leadership roles, is expected to add depth to the channel’s coverage.
Additional Talent on Board
In a further boost to its roster, CANAL+ has also brought in Inès Gaurin, a 35-year-old former international midfielder, to join its group of analysts. Her addition reflects the channel’s commitment to diverse and expert perspectives.
