The only notable incident of the evening occurred after the match had ended. During the game itself, the stands witnessed a unique exchange of chants between the Barcelona fans who had traveled to Valencia, stationed in one corner of the stadium, and the Levante supporters located near them on one side of the goal.

Chants and Flags in the Stands

The stands saw a back-and-forth of chants between the two groups. At one point, Levante fans raised chants affirming their Spanish identity, while Barcelona fans responded with “Long live Barcelona and long live Catalonia,” accompanied by the display of several Estelada flags.

On this occasion, the flags were also able to enter the Ciudad de Valencia stadium, unlike what has happened on other away trips where such flags were confiscated at the stadium entrances.

A Gesture of Respect from Levante Fans

Away from that exchange, Levante fans presented an image befitting the occasion. They initially honored the Barcelona players who had won the World Cup, then continued to support their team without resorting to insults.

This behavior helped make the atmosphere passionate and charged, without the competition exceeding its limits.
