Getafe played the final minutes with ten men after Mario Martín was sent off in the 87th minute.
With this win, Real Betis moved up to 15 points and now sit third in the La Liga table, level on points with city rivals Real Madrid, who occupy second place on goal difference. Getafe remain on 5 points in 16th position.
Looking ahead to the seventh round of La Liga, Real Madrid will visit neighbours Atlético Madrid on Sunday, while Real Betis travel to Deportivo La Coruña on the same day.
