Barcelona has announced that Hamza Abdel Karim will continue with the club until 2030. The new contract signing ceremony will take place next Tuesday at the office of Barcelona president Joan Laporta.
The renewal follows Abdel Karim’s impressive performances with the team, particularly during the pre-season preparations for the new campaign, despite limited appearances in official matches.
Contract Details and Release Clause
According to reports, Barcelona aimed to improve the salary of the Egyptian striker and increase the release clause in his contract to 150 million euros.
In June, Barcelona announced the activation of the purchase option for Abdel Karim from Egyptian club Al Ahly, making the young striker a permanent player for the Catalan club.
Journey at Barcelona
Abdel Karim joined Barcelona during the last winter transfer window and participated in the final part of the season with the club’s second team, where he delivered notable performances since his debut.
The Egyptian striker then made a strong impression during pre-season, finishing as Barcelona’s top scorer and securing his place in coach Hansi Flick’s plans.
First Team Registration and Future Plans
Earlier, there was speculation about Barcelona registering Abdel Karim in the first team squad after the La Liga website listed him among first-team players. However, the club remains committed to its original plan of keeping him in the reserve team squad for the current season, allowing him to maintain competitive rhythm and participate with the first team when needed, according to the Spanish newspaper Sport.
